Merge scanned PDFs into one file
Combine separate scans and photos into one PDF, with the files arranged in the order you need.
Scanners often save each session as a separate file. Bring those files together before sharing a complete document. Merge accepts PDFs alongside JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images, and processes them in your browser without uploading them.
Merge joins whole files. To keep only part of a PDF, extract those pages first. To change individual page positions after merging, open the saved result in Organize pages.
Step by step
- Open Merge PDFs and choose your scanned PDFs and any photos to include. Check each file name and PDF page count in the list.
- Drag files or use the move buttons to set their order. Pages inside each PDF stay in their existing order; each photo adds one page.
- Remove files you do not need and add any missing documents. Read the list from top to bottom as the order of the finished PDF.
- Run the merge, check the total page count and file size, then download the result. Open the saved PDF to review its order.
Tips and things to check
- Use Organize pages on the merged result to remove blank scans or duplicates. Keep the source files separately.
- Inputs totaling 500 MB or more show a warning. Available memory varies by device, so work in smaller batches if needed.
- Merging does not recognize or edit scanned text. Use Extract text (OCR) on the result card if you need text from the scans.
Frequently asked questions
Can I insert a photo between two PDFs?
Yes. Move the photo between the PDFs in the file list. To insert it inside a PDF, split that PDF at the required point first.
Will merging improve scan quality or reduce file size?
Merge is not a compression or image restoration tool. Check the actual output size against any submission limit.
