Extract the pages you need from a PDF
Enter page ranges and turn on the single-PDF option to save just the pages you need together.
Send a short excerpt instead of an entire document by making a separate PDF. Split can create a file for each range or collect the selected ranges into one file. Your document is processed on your device without an upload.
Step by step
- Open Split PDF, choose one PDF and check its page count. Numbers refer to positions starting at 1, rather than printed page labels.
- Enter a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-. This selects pages 1 through 3, page 5, and page 8 through the end. The example needs a document with at least eight pages.
- Enable the option to extract into one PDF if all selected pages should stay together. Otherwise, each comma-separated range becomes a separate PDF.
- Check the expected file and page counts, then run the split. Download one result as a PDF, or multiple results as a ZIP and unzip it.
Tips and things to check
- Typed ranges keep their order and any duplicates. Listing a page twice can put it into the result twice.
- You can also select page thumbnails. Thumbnail selection formats the chosen pages in numerical order, unlike manually ordered ranges.
- An empty range or a number outside the document is invalid. Use 1- for all pages, or choose the every-page mode to create a PDF for each page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I extract page 5 only?
Enter 5. The source must contain at least five pages, and the result will be one PDF.
Why did I get a ZIP for three ranges?
The ranges produced three separate PDFs. Enable the single-PDF extraction option and run it again if you want one combined file.
Are the selected pages removed from my original?
No. Split creates new files without overwriting the source. Open the download to check that all required pages are present.
